Just a few points:
- Hike thank you: Thank you all who came out to Sugarloaf, MD this past weekend with St. Dominic’s Young Adults! I’ve included at the bottom a picture from the summit and one of the whole group. (fyi: a sugarloaf is hunk of sugar, the way that sugar was packaged and sold before our modern style)
- Faith-Filled Frassati Friday, September 29! This breaks with our usual fourth Friday schedule, but it works best with the schedule at the Dominican House of Studies. This weekend is also the Thomistic Institute’s event “On the Holy Spirit” featuring a number of world-class theologians. You may consider coming to one or another of these conferences, which are free and open to the public.
- October 7 Service Project: New York Ave Barrier Shelter, an overnight shelter for homeless men, has asked for help around their residence on Saturday, October 7. This is also the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, so we will start the day with 8am Mass at the DHS and later we’ll pray a Rosary for the shelter, its residents, and its workers.
- The October FFFF will be on October 27. That weekend will also be the “Inter-Provincial Studentate Gathering” for the Student Brothers, so there will be Dominican Brothers from all over the US and Canada at the Holy Hour that evening.
